About Me

“ In order to create great environmental images,
you need to immerse yourself in nature,
be a part of it , breathe it
and love it for it's magnificence "
My 50 years of photographic experience is a blessing allowing me to recognise the potential outcomes, whilst awaiting that decisive moment of fusion.

My work is influenced by line, shape ,colour and light which when combined, can produce highly emotive photographic art. Understanding and controlling contrasting light and mesmerising colours assists me to push my image boundaries almost to the point of abstraction - both in form and colour.

Mostly my images are captured in camera and I use software sparingly.
I create images from a subjective perspective however I strongly identify with abstraction and density of colour. This is my passion as it allows me to evoke impact, depth and emotional effect. I am not always trying to represent a real life scene rather an impression of what light, atmosphere, object or landscape looks or feels like to me.
I love creating images after the sun sets
After sunset I wait in readiness, I need to be patient and let the scene unfold as mother nature builds her powerful and stirring show. Rays are dancing and long shadows are cast, sunset colours intensify then the shadows grow, accentuating texture within the composition. This is when magic happens and whilst immersed within this scene, I possess an innate sense to push the boundaries and create a more vivid, surrealistic image.
Artistic impressionism offers me the best of both worlds - incorporating familiar day to day scenery but also allowing me to present images with an innovative and refreshing angle.
My upcoming January 2024 exhibition, “Framed By The Sea" encapsulates my compelling nature to capture a scene that has come alive with light, colour and dimension and will once again be held at the Bermagui Surf Life Saving Club
It is these elements that allow me to transform a landscape that I already adore, with my own visions & expertise, and create my own unique PhotoArt.
I invite you to see through my eyes and to travel with me on my journey.
